This two volume "general" surgical pathology text is one of the most common/most favored "comprehensive" books. The 9th edition is edited almost exclusively by a single author, making it very consistent in style and content from chapter to chapter. It is also quite concise; unlike many texts, every sentence contains significant information — which also makes it very difficult to "skim" as you risk missing important details. Contains a CD with its images in digital format. Highly recommended as a study source for pathology residents, particularly if only purchasing one book early in one's career (~$400 US).
