Resistance: Usually bacitracin susceptible and furazolidone resistant.

Morphology: Gram+ cocci in pairs, clusters, and sometimes tetrads.

Growth characteristics: Easily grown on a variety of media, but slower growing than Staphylococcus sp., with smaller colonies >24hrs. at 35C. Colony color ranges from cream to yellow to rose, dependent on species.
